|
In 1943, German merchant vessels off the coast of the neutral Portuguese colony of Goa transmit information about Allied ships to a predatory U-boat. Unable to launch a raid in neutral waters, two British officers (Gregory Peck and Roger Moore) recruit an unoffical squad of commandos from the ranks of the Calcutta Light Horse, a cadre of polo-playing, gray-haired veterans (David Niven, Trevor Howard, Patrick Macnee) who haven't seen action since the Boer War. Recommissioned as the "Sea Wolves," this codger corps launches a clandestine raid in this 1980 film based on true wartime exploits hidden until 1978 by the Official Secrets Act.
